  • About OWEB

To have clean water, we have to take care of our forests, rangelands, farms and cities – as well as the streams, rivers and lakes that link them all.

Across Oregon, local Watershed Councils, Soil and Water Conservation Districts and other groups are doing exactly that,
with funding from OWEB.

Local foresters, farmers, ranchers, fishermen and residents volunteer to protect streams and the land around them. For example, they work to keep dirt out of streams and rivers by fixing problems with rainwater runoff on roads and putting native plants back where they once were.

These hundreds of cooperative and voluntary activities help achieve one vital goal – clean water.
